Junk Food

Not all books are created equally. Junk Food Books aren’t worth the paper they’re written on.

Rabid written by Bill Wasik and Monica Murphy is an insightful read.  I am always interested in learning about history and how it has affected us now.  Rabid describes the earliest mentions of rabies in historical reports and how it was treated in those times.  Since rabies has a 99.9% fatality rate once symptoms appear, none of treatments then or now were affective in curing those infected.  It is quite interesting to learn of the transfer of fear that now embodies so many of our horror novels.  Vampires and wear-wolves to name a few got their origin from the rabid animals that passed the virus on to their human companions.  The book is a bit dry at times, but so much of it is full of well written information that makes you eager to continue.👍
